My desire is to help OSL communities grow. I’d love to see more active communities in our region. I’d also love to see each of you grow spiritually, that you might know Christ, and be more like him, to have the joy of walking with him and participating as a living member of His body.
You see, we are meant to minister together. And in order to do that, it's important that we be in relationship with one another. It's not that we can't go out on the street and pray for people by ourselves. Of course we can! But the Body of Christ is a body for a reason. The Holy Spirit melds our different gifts together to use for the good of His beloveds.
If you are an OSL member, you are not an island. At least you shouldn't be. If you are not a member of an active community, spend some time in prayer to discern what the Lord wants you to do with the gifts he has given you, and determine what kind of commitment is needed from you to walk this out.... to gather regularly and minister with others? to convene a new community or step forward to help lead a community whose convener needs a break? to be a chaplain to a community?... or simply to show up whenever you are able to join in prayer and study with others?
Because I know there are members looking for a community, I want to help. For all we know, you're living three miles away from a few people who are also looking for a community. So I created a short survey, and I hope you’ll take some time to participate. Answer any or all of the questions.
